Two wooly dogs, one had a hair cut.

Guess which one is the mom and which is the puppy.

Kinda Cool

(Click for full size)

I took this shot the other day. These flowers are about the size of your fingernail. They grow all over the place out here in the sand. The plant itself is really ugly and prickly, I think it's some kind of cactus, but the flowers are cute.

Some of them are purple.

Blue Eyes

This little miss has the most amazing blue eyes, doesn't she?

A Random Pic.

Is this the face of someone who is up to no good or what?

Gave the dog a haircut

Before

After

It's a horrible hack job, but in a day or so when she likes me again, I'll try to even it out. Maybe we'll just wait a couple three weeks and take her to the groomer. At least she can poop normally now.

An artsy one of the artist.

Just felt like putting this together today. The dress is "actual" color, so is her hair and lips. The others have been muted or desaturated. I think it came out pretty good. (Made with GIMP.)

Another shot

I had to tweak this one a bit because of the background, but Mr. Handsome just wouldn't wait.

On oldie

This took some time and patience. The original is protrait size - as in portrait over the fireplace, so it's huge. I couldn't scan it so I took pictures of it. The finish on the original was kind of semi glossy, so no matter the lighting I got some kind of glare on it. I was eventually able to composite two of the shots together to get rid of the glare. Then I spent quite a bit of time retrouching the photo where it had been scratched, faded, and just generally gotten old. I'm glad I was able to preserve it digitally.

This photo was taken in 1981, that's your's truly in the middle, mom on the right, my brother on my left, and dad in the chair. It was during the Dorchester, Nebraska Centennial festival. Many people, most I would say, made costumes based on what would have been worn at the time the town was founded and wore them all through the festival. One of our Junior High teachers even wore a bonnet and dress that my mother had made for HIM.

We loaned the chair to the photographer and many people had similar pictures taken with it. I've still got the chair which is still in great shape and will probably have it for many years to come.

A new one

Miss C's latest work. Some of the detail has been lost in digitizing it, but you can still see the work that went into it. It looks to me like something you would see in a text book!

September stuff

I try to post a little news thing every month just to keep everyone filled in on the haps with us. I really don't have anything to say this month, things really haven't changed much since last month. School has started, but that's about it. Of course one of the kids is off to college, but I've already written about that.

What else can I tell you? Social Security is still on hold. I did have a hearing scheduled, but I was able to get a pro-bono lawyer and he needed more time to get things done for us, so we asked for the hearing to be rescheduled and it was. The date hasn't been reset yet, but it's on "the list".

Our vehicles continue to run nicely. The speedometer went out on Bob The Big White Van. We asked the guy that helped us fix the transmission and he said to just take it back to his shop, the cable was probably undone accidentally when they fixed the transmission. Since we only drive it on Sundays it's not that big of a deal, so we'll get it in when we can.

So life goes on pretty much as normal. Dogs, diapers, and potty training. And me just getting by.
