An update

Has it really been almost half a year since I wrote anything here? My store took me into Christmas, then through a whole series of crazy exercises.
I finally, FINALLY just took some time off before I totally burned out.

You know, I really like my job, I really do, but I'm concerned about the future of the company. This may come back to bite me, but I honestly
wonder if this company hasn't lost its focus. We don't talk any more about prayer, about how great it is to sell Bibles, we don't even talk about
people any more. Yes, it's retail. Yes, it's important to grow and do better than the past. Yes, we want to be number one. However, the company is
putting all bets on gimmicks. Instead of giving store managers power to do what is right for their clients, for their communities, the company
leaders give us $5 books and movie rental web sites and selling books before they come out. More than that, they are betting the future of the
company on the money they want us to make from these gimmicks. Maybe it will pay off, maybe I'm wrong. But all I can do is trust that God has
brought me here for a reason and continue to be faithful to what I've been asked to do.

So what has been going on on the home front with Anna and the kids? Well, school, of course. Tasha finally made some good friends. She's way
pumped about prom. ($$$$$ - ow.) We've figured out that Cheni is a control freak. The trick now is to find things that it's O.K. for her to control
instead of inflicting her upon her younger siblings. Derek has figured out that guys are generally stupid and plays that like crazy. If the T.V. is

on,
he becomes deaf. We've warned him that we will fix his "hearing problem" with a belt applied to the buttocks. So far seems to be working.

We are still homeschooling the little ones. We just got then the same work books we used with the others - the ones that turned Derek from a
reading-impaired trouble student into a can't-read-enough honor student. Destiny is eating it up. Ian's not quite settled enough to get into it yet,
but he's already doing the same work Destiny is.

So what do you want to hear from us? What kinds of things would you like us to put on here? I'm thinking about putting on a page for each
person in the family to share personal things and stuff. How about that?
