How I spent my birthday.

So it started out as a pretty normal Sunday. I wasn't doing so well in the morning so I stayed home, but other than that it was nice and peaceful. That evening was the annual Thanksgiving potluck at the church, basically a big turkey dinner for the whole church family.

So we get there, eat some turkey and all is good. Until Miss G. basically passes out, complaining her gut hurt. She kept pointing to the area of her appendix, so we did what any responsible parent does, take her to the emergency room to have it checked.

The staff was great, took care of her really quick. The fastest way to figure out if someone really has an appendix problem is a cat scan.

Here's what they found:

The circled item is not her appendix.

It's a PENNY.

Miss G., the little snot bucket, had eaten a penny. Her pain was caused when it passed from her stomach to her intestines (probably the flat way). Now that it's in her intestines, it's just going to have to pass.

But it took about 6 hours in the emergency room to find out something the little turdsnipe could have told us herself.

She'll be fine, we just have to keep her home from school until we're sure it passes.

So now we get to check her poop too.

Fun.
