Spring Break

Yes, the thing parents dread most. Spring break. It's now Wednesday and it's almost half over - Monday can't come soon enough.

I proud of my teenagers, though. The local Ace hardware just built themselves a shiny new building and they were looking for temps to help them move every hammer, nut, bolt, and screw from the old store to the new one. They passed out flyers at the high school hoping to wrangle as many hands as possible. They didn't get near the turn-out they had hoped, but my kids opted to work instead of lay around at home. To make some money rather than beg it off of their parents.

So, anyway, they've been there every day so far this week. Yesterday they pretty much had things moved and were in the process of loading the shelves and such. The bosses fired a bunch of people for standing around doing nothing. Almost everyone. Guess who DIDN'T get fired? Yep. Miss C and Mr D. In fact, they were so impressed with their work ethic that they offered them permanent jobs!

You know, raising teenagers is hard. Really hard. But sometimes something happens to let you know that you're doing something right. I'm so proud of them.
