April 1 - No foolin'

Snow

It's snowing. Hard. Everyone tells
me it never snows here, but it's snowed a few times every year we've lived here. And it always seems to snow in late March and April. This year we got a lot, so hopefully it's a sign that the drought is mellowing.

Doctor

I just got back from a regular follow-up with my doctor. Nothing new to report, but we have to do these follow-ups to keep the ball rolling on disability. He really wants me to go to the Mayo Clinic, but without insurance, it can't happen. I would cost more thousands than we've ever had ever.

He did suggest I contact the University Hospital. At least that would be something and since it's a teaching hospital it would cost us little or nothing. I don't know. I mean, I've seen a lot of specialists with no results. But at least we'd be doing something.

Life

Things are extremely stressful right now. Miss C and Mr D didn't take into consideration the comings and goings of the rest of the family when they submitted their availability for their new job. As a result we've had to do some insane juggling that we can't possibly keep up for the next 9 weeks until school is out.

We're still trying to figure out how to get the various vehicles fixed. It's not a matter of money, we have that, at least at the moment. The issue is we have too many people wanting to "help" us do it cheaply, and as a result everything is tied up in their hands The problem there is that it means we have to wait for them to do it on their time. While we desperately need them fixed now, their thinking is "well, they've done without this long, I'll git 'round tuit." So we call and ask and "not yet" and we call and ask and "not yet" and on and on.

Here's a picture of Mr. L from last week trying to tell us how old he is now:
