I spoke to our friend the car dealer yesterday at church who is desperately trying to help us fix our big van. He found a guy that will rebuild the transmission for $800. Which is - whoa. The only issue is, the rip-off artists that we had to rescue it from (who offered to rebuild it for almost $5000.00) didn't give us back all the parts.
Our friend, however, didn't know what part or parts were missing, but assured us the guy he hired to fix it was actively tracking the parts. I asked him if, when he spoke to the guy, he could ask him which parts were missing, he assured us he would.
I'm really thinking we kind of flushed our money on this one. Which is tragic because we really could have used that money for another vehicle. Especially now that we have two student drivers.
