Hi. It's been a while since I've done any "real" posting here. And for that I apologize. I set this up to keep friends and family who are far away connected to us here in the land of enchantment (or is it the land of big spiders and sand storms... I forget). But anyway, I will try to be more diligent in keeping you all up to date on me, the wife and the kiddos.
Today's news is that we finally got an appointment with the neurologist. Things have really been a hassle since our insurance went away, so until we have it again, we have to pay everything out of pocket... and up front. Thanks to a hefty tax refund, we've been able to get some past bills caught up and go hooked up with the brain doctor again.
Originally the appointment was set for the end of July (she's really busy!) but there was a cancellation and given the severity of my symptoms, they put me at the top of the "to call" list. So, by God's grace, they called yesterday and I'm seeing her this morning.
I really don't know what to expect, there are probably some expensive tests she will want to run and we don't have the money for it right now. I am trying to get on the state subsidized insurance (its for people like me who can't afford insurance from the "big" companies, but it's not free either... which is OK because I'm not looking for a hand out, just a hand "up"), but the paperwork process is slow and frustrating. So until that, or Social Security, goes through the expensive tests will have to wait.
